Global Idea Trend : Taiwan ( U Bike )

YouBike is a popular bicycle rental system in Taipei, Taiwan.

A few years ago the Taiwan government started to put many bikes everywhere. You can see the "U Bike" near by your house , or maybe you can see it beside the convenience market . This kind of bike is called YouBike, or U Bike.

"U Bike" is a bicycle rental transportation system, it can be used for many different ways, like if you do not want to buy the bike, you can just go to borrow the " U Bike " and go to somewhere you want to go. So, it is very convenient to use the YouBike bicycles. If there are more UBikes maybe there will be some people who will change their mind that they do not need the scooter. They can just ride UBike to school or to other places, such as their work.

Scooters and traffic in Taipei causes a lot of air pollution.

As you can see from the picture above, there are different kinds of cars and scooters on the road. It is very bad because if there are more cars or motorcycles on the road, it will be very bad for Taiwan. This is because it will cause more air pollution. So, I hope that everyone can try to ride the bicycle, just like Pan Chung-cheng (潘忠政) who is from the environmental group Cherish Taoyuan Algal Reef (珍愛桃園藻礁). She said "Reefs are of great significance and value to the world’s natural heritage". Also, Lai Ching -te also reiterated the government’s determination to support green energy. Next Thursday the Cabinet will reveal the specific policies of its plan to give Taiwan its fresh air back.

As you can see the Taiwanese government have a way to try to fix the air pollution in Taiwan. So, they tried many different ways to stop the issue getting worse. As you can see, the government put many UBikes around Taipei, as much as they can. They put the bike stations outside of train station, and convenience stores. This is because they want to make Taiwan to become the better place, with lower air pollution, and fresher air. But, if we really want Taiwan to have lower pollution, we can not give all the work to the government. We must start with ourselves, for example we can avoid using cars or motorcycles, we can try to take buses, or even ride the "U Bike".

I hope the government can build more cycle paths, so the people in Taiwan can be more interested to riding UBike , just like China. China have the longest cycle path in the world, which was designed and completed in six months. The project was the latest in a number of raised cycleways by Danish architects Dissing+Weitling. Another project, the ‘Bicycle Snake’, was completed in 2014. The 230 m bridge connects Copenhagen’s harbour area to the city. I hope Taiwan can do this too.
